Easy Care Tips for Your Corian® Surfaces
Maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of your Corian® surfaces is a breeze. With its smooth, non-porous nature, Corian® repels substances, making stains sit on the surface for effortless removal. Even scratches and minor damages can be easily remedied using a gentle abrasive sponge.
How to Keep Your Corian® Surface Clean:
Cleaning your Corian® surface is a simple task. A regular sponge and a common detergent or an ammonia-based solution are all you need. For stubborn dirt, a wet Scotch-Brite abrasive sponge, with or without a cleaning product, can be used. Apply a circular motion to tackle tough stains, then smooth out the surrounding area for a seamless finish.
Dealing with Stubborn Stains:
Challenging stains like vinegar, coffee, tea, or red wine pose no problem for Corian®. A sponge and an ammonia-based solution or detergent will do the trick. For more stubborn stains like lily pollen or saffron, a touch of bleach followed by a quick rinse with hot water is effective. Promptly remove chemical stains caused by substances like paint removers or acids with soap and water to prevent damage.
Handling Acid Stains:
While Corian® is not recommended for surfaces exposed to Class 2 reagents, stains caused by certain acids can usually be eliminated with standard household detergents, provided the exposure is brief.
Removing Limescale Buildup:
Limescale on your Corian® sink can be easily addressed with a diluted bleach solution. Apply it for a few minutes, and the sink will regain its white appearance. For bathroom fixtures, a non-abrasive sponge and a regular household product can eliminate limescale. Rinse with hot water and dry with a soft cloth.
Addressing Persistent Stains and Scratches:
Corian® can be restored with everyday cleaning. For persistent stains or small scratches, a wet abrasive sponge like Scotch-Brite works wonders. Circular motions over the affected area, ensuring evenness with the adjacent surface, will leave your Corian® looking like new.
Caring for Corian® in the Kitchen:
Corian® is robust and resistant to impacts and scratches. Minor damage from knives or pots during food preparation can be easily removed with a Scotch-Brite abrasive sponge. For more significant damage, a technician can repair it seamlessly, leaving no traces behind.
Dos and Don’ts in the Kitchen:
- Avoid placing hot pots directly on the Corian® surface; use a pan rest to protect it.
- Run cold water while draining hot dishes and allow the pot to cool before placing it in the sink.
